Who Is Your Lesbian Icon?
Your lesbian icon is Radclyffe Hall!
Radclyffe Hall

Every minority group has their heroes, and Radclyffe Hall stands up there with the best of them for daring to speak her mind, even when it went against what society thought was right. Her controversial book The Well of Loneliness was published in 1928 on the subject of what was described at the time as 'sexual inversion' was declared to be obscene by the Home Secretary and later banned from sale until over twenty years later. Whilst you may not share Radclyffe's anarchic streak, you probably do appreciate that some things are worth standing up for. It is partly due to the fact that people have campaigned against discrimination that the UK government no longer locks people up if their sexuality does not fit into the considered norms of society. Sometimes it needs a high profile case to bring an unjust scenario to the public attention, but we think that you probably do your bit to reduce repression around you, even if you don't realise it.
