There's a new Micheals. Well not new new but new to me. Took my kid to Janzen Beach last night adn there it was. Right where the old R.E.I. used to be. They didn't have anything new or different though. Just exciting to see yarn. My son found some paint by numbers kits he wanted. But then again he wanted everything. He's become very greedy latley. Whenever we go out he's always wanting something. And he hsa so much stuff already his room is getting really cluttered. Don't know what is up with that. Maybe he's not getting enough attention formm me. At least I feel good about taking him out. When he's with his dad, they sit around the house doing nothing. So he's got that balance going on I suppose. It's just so hard listening to him whine. MEMEMEMEME. He's 10 and that's his job but its just hard to put up with. Especially when I have so much work to do. I have a syllabus to hand in for my class next term I'm teaching (Sex, Power and Consumption) I have to continually work on my Core paper (I should proobably defend this summer) plus my classes, my job, eat right, excercise, get enough sleep, blah blah blah.

I just dopped a ton of money on new glasses (since I broke the ones I'm wearing at the mountain when we went inner tubing). I feel good about giving all my money to my eye doctor rather than those thieves at the mall. I went there first thinking I'd save money but they have NO customer service and it just felt icky. So I made an appointment with my eye doctor. Even though I don't have coverage on my insurance for glasses anymore, I wewnt anyway.He is so cool. So patient adn reassuring and helpful. You really do get more for your money.

Got stood up for lunch yesterday. Was supposed to meet this woman who I adore. She's the only other black woman in woman's studies I can relate to. I want to work with her in a sort of mentorship relationship. She has cool dreds too and I want some just like it. I was hoping to talk to her about co-publishing a paper. I have to get on the ball with publishing. And everyone is so busy its hard to find someone who has time to publish with me. Although I really thing I should approach the women in the WRC about it too. We'll see.

I've been making little coofee bras for the WRC with little V's on them for Vagina Monologes. Gotta post some pictures.
