My son has been teasing me about "being in loooooooooove" with Mike Rowe. Yes, he's a babe. But I have a feeling he and I would not be a good match. I have a feeling we have different value systems. But it is nice to look at him. And yes I did knit him a pair of socks and sent them to him (I have no idea if he got them and/or is actually wearing them). And it is quite funny to hear a 10 year old making goo goo eyes at me about it.

But its just so pathetic.......

Stitch 'N Bitch Crochet: The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller.

This a brand new copy. My mum got it for me but I never look at it. Retails for $15 but you can have it for $10.

Stoller's Stitch 'N Bitch and Stitch 'N Bitch Nation have become icons of the knitting craze: every hip young needleworker has at least one of them next to the yarn stash. Now, she uses the same approach that made her knitting books so successful in this entrée to sexed-up hookwork that takes pains to show crocheting isn't for grandma anymore. Stoller provides everything short of the hook and yarn a crafter will need to learn how to crochet. From a history of the craft to mind-bogglingly complete instructions and dozens of charted and explained patterns (the majority of which are for women's clothing and accessories-there are no afghans here), it's all presented in Stoller's bright, witty style and accompanied by cheery color photographs.

An essential illustrated library of charted design motifs, both traditional and modern, for all knitterssuperbly organized and spiral-bound to lie flat for easy use.

Whether you’re edging the cuffs of a plain sweater, embellishing the pocket of a child’s cardigan with a flower, or incorporating a textured stitch, such as Fair Isle, into the yoke of a knitted jacket, this book will help you find the perfect pattern or motif. Each charted motif is complete with data indicating the number of stitches and rows required to repeat a single pattern; in addition, a number of the charts are shown in different colorways. With a thousand international motifs to choose from, organized into easy-to-access categories, this is your guide to distinctive custom knitting.

It's 10% silk, 18% mohair and 72% wool. So it is NOT superwash. 88 yards, sugg needle size is size 8. Usually retails for $7-8. You can have it for $5 each. http://brownsheep.com/ps.htm the color is leveraged lemon The verigated one is Classic Elite waterspun 100% merino. 138 yards, 5 sts per inch on size 7 needles. Ususally retails for $6-7. You can have it for $4.

Its 110 yards, gauge is 18 by 23 =4 inches on #7 needle. The label says 93 yards makes a 1 foot square in stockinette. the pinkish color is called Kyoto. I got a bunch of mohairs. The rainbow colored stuff is Luxury Mohair from King Cole. 78% mohair, 13 % wool and 9% nylon. 110 yards, rec needle size is 9 but its real thin and wispy. I used it straned with another color to give the hat softness and jazz up the color. Retails for $6-7, you can have it for $4. The dark purple is Sirdar color soft. 60% mohair, 125 yards chunky. I have 2 or 3 of these. Retails for $6-7, you can have it for $4. Then one skein of Plymouth Baby Alpaca Brush 80% baby alpaca 20% acrylic. 110 yards rec needle size 9, its a vergated maroonish pink. Very soft. I used these doubled stranded with other yarns for soft hats and mittens. Retails for $6-7, you can have it for $4.

Next is a bunch of Dale of Norway. There's some full skeins and a bunch of little leftovers. Some are Daletta, Heilo or Tiur. All are 100% wool. I guess I would call it sport weight or sock weight. Good on size 2 or 3 needles. I can wrap the skeins around my 3 foot long table to see exactly how many yards are in in each little blob. They retail between $5-6, you can have them $3 for the full skeins. if you want a bunch of little blobs of colors (good for making socks?) then $1 for used ones.

So here's my latest project. I knit a pillow cover for this ugly couch cushion I have. It's a great pillow for putting on my lap and reading but it so scratchy and yucky so I made a nice cover for it.
