So I finished Teddy's sweater and now I'm on to a floor mat for the kitchen floor in front of the sink (my son is a slob at doing the dishes) Its using up that bag of cotton I got at Goodwill for $1.99 and big needles. I'm holding 3 strands at once so it'll be nice and thick.

So I went through all my yarn and patterns and I have laid out a plan. Sort of. I saw this fabulous pattern for a teddy bear knit all in one piece on Knitty Gritty the other day. My son and I were watching it and he might make one too! Anyway, That would be a great project for my TLC acrylic stash. Then for my cotton stash I wanna make some log cabin floor mats for my kitchen. I need floor mats for my kitchen desperately. And I love the log cabin patterns in Mason Dixon knitting (I got it from the library, my own personal pattern resource). Then I want to make an earflap hat. I tried with the ultra alpaca from Borocco but it's just not going to happen. Maybe I'll make some socks out of it or just a plain ole ribbed hat. I think I'll use my mmmmmmmmmmmalabrigo stash for the earflap hat instead.
Then there is the rainbow leg warmers to use up all the microspun and the rest of the Touche (socks). OK that's enuf projects going at once

OK so I had my last class the other day adn the only other thing I have to do today is apply for GA position with the head of the doctoral program so I'll have plenty o time to blog and post pics. Also my kid is leaving town for a week to play with his Grammie and Grandpa in Seattle (WOOHOO!!) so I'll have even more time.
But so far I've given up on the swell hat from knitty. I just don't like carrying. I may make it with some of my mmmmmmmmmmmmmmalabrigo instead. Still making more rainbow legwarmers, some socks from my Touche stash and a sweater for my son's teddy. THe old one was kinda ratty. OK gotta get into "I'm so impressive you want to hire me" letter writing mode. ~~~~~~~

So I finished the other leg warmer and it turned out better thanthe first one so I may rip it out and do it over. I dunno. I'm inot the new pattern on Knitty called swurl. http://knitty.com/ISSUEsummer06/PATTswell.html You make the two ear flaps first then cast on stiches between them, join and staart knitting. Here is what it looks like.
